Mulembe in Queensland brings together Luhya families across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Toowoomba — for cultural life, mutual welfare support, and a place to belong. Members get their membership number, meeting minutes, and every notice in one place.
About the community
We are Luhya people — from the villages of western Kenya — now living and raising families in Queensland. The association was formed so that arriving families find a ready network, and so our language, food and ceremony continue here.
Our mission
To unite Luhya people in Queensland, support one another in hardship and celebration, and pass our culture on to children growing up far from home.

Governance
The constitution
Adopted at the 2021 general meeting and amended in 9 August 2026. It sets out who may join, how office bearers are elected, how the welfare fund is managed, and how meetings are called.
